Types of Conditions We Treat
Diabetic Ulcers
These are wounds that occur primarily on the feet of individuals with diabetes due to neuropathy, poor circulation, and increased pressure. They can lead to serious complications, including infections and amputations if not treated properly.
Pressure Ulcers
Also known as bedsores or decubitus ulcers, these are injuries to the skin and underlying tissue resulting from prolonged pressure, typically over bony areas. They are common in individuals who are bedridden or have limited mobility.
Vascular/Ischemic Ulcers
These ulcers result from inadequate blood supply to the tissues, often due to vascular diseases like peripheral artery disease. They commonly appear on the lower extremities and can become critical if not addressed.
Trauma Wounds
These are injuries resulting from external forces such as cuts, abrasions, lacerations, or punctures. Their severity can vary widely, often depending on the depth and location of the injury.
Chronic Non-Healing Wounds
These are wounds that fail to heal within an expected timeframe, often due to underlying health issues, such as diabetes, poor circulation, or infection. They can lead to significant morbidity and require specialized treatment.
Post-Surgical Wounds
These wounds occur following surgical procedures and can vary from minor incisions to large surgical sites. They require careful monitoring and management to prevent infection and promote healing.
Lymphedema-Related Swelling
This condition involves the accumulation of lymph fluid, leading to swelling, typically in the arms or legs. It often results from lymphatic system damage or obstruction and can cause discomfort and mobility issues.
Dermatological Conditions
These encompass a wide range of skin disorders, including eczema, psoriasis, acne, and dermatitis. They can manifest as dry, itchy, or inflamed skin and may require dermatological treatments for management and relief.
Our Services
We offer the following advanced treatments for wound care and swelling to ensure quick, high-quality results:
Debridement
Removing damaged tissue to promote healing and prevent infection.
Biopsies
Definitive diagnostic test to evaluate the cause of the non-healing wound by removing a small piece of the tissue.
Skin Substitutes
A piece of organ, tissue from an animal and even from the placenta and is transplanted into the affected area. This causes blood vessels to grow from the tissue and bond the piece to the affected area.
Wound vacuum therapy (NPWT)
NPWT, also known as vacuum-assisted closure, involves applying negative pressure to the wound bed using a specialized dressing and vacuum pump. This helps to draw out excess fluid, reduce swelling, and stimulate the growth of new tissue. NPWT is particularly effective for large or complex wounds.
Compression devices
Adding pressure with wraps, contracting areas of restricted flow, allowing the veins to loosen. This loosening decreases venous pressure, reduces edema and aids the body in moving blood around.
Cryotherapy
The infected area is treated by freezing the area, thereby, accelerating the body’s natural healing process, reducing inflammation, renewing skin and blood cells and reducing muscle and joint tenderness.
Lymphatic drainage
A gentle massage technique designed to encourage the natural drainage of lymph, a fluid that helps remove waste and toxins from tissues. By stimulating the lymphatic system, this therapy reduces swelling, enhances immune function, and supports the body’s healing process.
Lymphedema therapy
A specialized treatment aimed at managing and reducing swelling caused by lymphatic fluid buildup. This therapy includes techniques such as compression bandaging, manual lymph drainage, and tailored exercises to restore proper lymphatic flow and improve overall mobility.
